What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

The canteen operates four days a week, catering for children at lunch and recess. The canteen operates on the principles set down by the Department of Education and Training for the provision of healthy food. It is staffed by a manager (two days per week) and relies heavily on parent volunteers.

The canteen is a valuable asset to the school – not just for fundraising, but also by helping to educate and encourage students to choose healthy options in their diet.

Our school also follows a vegetable, fruit and water program called ‘Crunch & Sip’. It is a time each day in the classroom when students can eat a piece of vegetable or fruit while class continues. It also allows students to have a clear water bottle on their desks that they can drink water from during class. We know that eating vegetables or fruit and drinking water is a great recipe for learning because it can improve energy levels, alertness and concentration.

Online canteen

To visit the online canteen, visit school24. The school ID number is 25130963.

When topping up your account, all bank/cash deposits need to have a copy of the transaction receipt sent to the canteen manager with a top-up request sent through the school24 website before the money can be verification.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Uniform shop

It is compulsory for all students at Ermington Public School to wear the Ermington Public School uniform.  Summer uniform is worn Terms 1 and 4 and winter uniform in Terms 2 and 3.  Sports uniforms are worn by all students on Fridays. To order a uniform, please fill out the 2018 uniform order form (PDF 300KB).

The uniform shop is run by parent volunteers from the parents and citizens association (P&C). We try to open each Tuesday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am and from 5:30am to 6:30am on the first Wednesday of the month (prior to the P&C meeting).  We are located in the same building as the school office.  If the shop is closed, you may leave your order and payment with the office.  We will make up your order and deliver to your child’s classroom.

If you may also order online through the school24 website. Our school registration ID number is 25130963.

Most uniform items are only available at the uniform shop.  We are a sub-committee of the P&C of Ermington Public School.  We are volunteers, which means all profits go to the school for ongoing improvements to our school. Please support the school and our children by buying your uniforms through the school.

On orientation day, we have sizing samples available in the uniform shop from 8:45am to 9:30am.  You can determine the sizes required and purchase uniform requirements on that day.  Please remember to consider that a well-fitting item in November may be too small by next year.

The uniform shop also stocks second hand uniforms, which are approximately 25% of the price of new uniforms.
