Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Canteen
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
The canteen operates four days a week, catering for children at lunch and recess. The canteen operates on the principles set down by the Department of Education and Training for the provision of healthy food. It is staffed by a manager (two days per week) and relies heavily on parent volunteers.
The canteen is a valuable asset to the school – not just for fundraising, but also by helping to educate and encourage students to choose healthy options in their diet.
Our school also follows a vegetable, fruit and water program called ‘Crunch & Sip’. It is a time each day in the classroom when students can eat a piece of vegetable or fruit while class continues. It also allows students to have a clear water bottle on their desks that they can drink water from during class. We know that eating vegetables or fruit and drinking water is a great recipe for learning because it can improve energy levels, alertness and concentration.
Uniforms
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
is suitable for all body shapes.

Uniform shop
It is compulsory for all students at Ermington Public School to wear the Ermington Public School uniform. Summer uniform is worn Terms 1 and 4 and winter uniform in Terms 2 and 3. Sports uniforms are worn by all students on Fridays.
The uniform shop is run solely by parent volunteers from the parents and citizens association (P&C). It is a sub-committee of the P&C of Ermington Public School which means all profits go to the school for ongoing improvements.
We aim to open 3 times a month for parents to come in store and try on items or you can order online at anytime throughout the year through our online system https://myschoolconnect.com.au

Hiring our facilities
You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.
